The San Diego County Fair Is Back! Here Is Everything You Need To Know

Hey San Diego! The County Fair is back, kicking off summer with all the thrills and fried treats you can handle.

The San Diego County Fair opens TODAY, Wednesday, June 12, and we want to make sure you are all set to have a blast.

Here’s what you need to know before you head over:

What’s New?

This year’s theme is “Let’s Go Retro,” but there are plenty of new attractions to check out. There are 18 new rides, including The Kraken, an 80-foot tall swing ride, and The Raptor, a fresh roller coaster. Foodies can dig into unique eats like a Cap’n Crunch Berry chicken sandwich or freeze-dried fruit rollups.

Dates and Times

The fair runs from June 12 to July 7. Gates are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Rides and games stay open after the gates close!

Tickets

You can buy your tickets online or at the gate. Head to SDFair.com to snag yours and check crowd predictions. If you buy your tickets in advance for adults they start at $16 for certain weekdays, while weekend and day-of tickets go up to $25. Discounts are available for seniors and youths, and kids under 5 get in free!

Parking

General parking at the fairgrounds starts at $20 at the Main Gate or Solana Gate. Preferred parking is $50 at the Preferred Parking Gate. For cheaper options, park at Del Mar Horsepark for $10 or at Canyon Crest Academy for free, and take a free shuttle to the fair.

Transportation

Get a Fair Tripper ticket for fair entry plus public transportation (NCTD Coaster, Sprinter, Breeze, or MTS Trolley/bus) to the Solana Beach Coaster station, and then hop on a free shuttle to the fair. These tickets are $16 on weekdays and $20 on weekends, with discounts for seniors and youths. You can buy them on the PRONTO app or at a station ticket machine.
