Big changes are coming to Girard Avenue in La Jolla! The historic US Bank building, originally built in 1961, is being transformed into the highly anticipated La Jolla Food Hall. This 7,800-square-foot mid-century building, a long-standing feature of the Girard Avenue corridor, will soon house seven unique dining spots and outdoor seating areas designed to reflect La Jolla’s distinctive charm.

The project, led by local developer David Rudolph and his family—who also own the building—aims to create a culinary destination that blends La Jolla’s upscale yet approachable vibe with a variety of innovative dining options. Each eatery will range between 600 and 1,000 square feet, with plans to incorporate a mix of local and regional concepts. Adding to the allure, the team is even considering converting the old bank vault into a speakeasy.

With city approvals in place and permitting underway, the project is on track to start signing on eateries early next year and open by late 2025.

Located at 7733 Girard Avenue, the La Jolla Food Hall offers an exciting opportunity for restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs. With flexible space sizes and a prime spot in the heart of La Jolla Village, the food hall is designed to attract a diverse mix of culinary talent. Developers are actively seeking tenants who can bring fresh, innovative dining concepts to life.

If you know someone with a big idea—or have one yourself—you can reach out to David Rudolph at [email protected]. For more updates, visit the project’s website at lajollafoodhall.com.

With its blend of La Jolla’s character and a variety of dining options, the La Jolla Food Hall is poised to become a must-visit destination for food lovers. Stay tuned as this exciting project takes shape and gets ready to open its doors in late 2025!
