Get Ready to Jet! San Diego Announces Nonstop Flight to Amsterdam

Starting next May, San Diego travelers will have a new way to reach Europe nonstop, with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines launching flights to Amsterdam! This route marks San Diego International Airport’s third direct flight to a major European city and will operate three times a week, beginning on May 8. It’s the first nonstop connection added to Europe in two years, joining Lufthansa’s flights to Munich and British Airways’ service to London.

KLM’s arrival brings the total of international airlines flying out of San Diego to seven, giving locals even more travel options. Amsterdam, known for its picturesque canals, vibrant art scene, and strong business ties to San Diego, will now be the 10th international destination available from SAN.

The timing couldn’t be better, with international travel on the rise. This Amsterdam route is expected to make European travel even easier, connecting travelers to multiple cities across Europe within a few hours of landing in Amsterdam. As part of the SkyTeam Alliance, KLM also offers loyalty perks across 19 partner airlines, opening up even more benefits for frequent travelers.

This launch is part of a growing trend, as KLM and its partners (Air France, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic) expand their North American routes. The new service between San Diego and Amsterdam adds convenient options for both business and leisure travel, with over 160 destinations accessible through KLM’s network. This exciting addition signals KLM’s commitment to connecting San Diego with even more destinations worldwide.
