The developers of the Merge 56 project were hoping to get on the San Diego City Council agenda this month and get their approval but it appears this has been delayed until the end of February. They are still hoping to break ground this summer with Residential opening in 2019 and Commercial to open in 2020. The project would contain a movie theatre, restaurants, retail, office and residential in a village style shopping center.
The long awaited Torrey Meadows park opened in December 2017! It is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The park contains two play structures, picnic areas, basketball court and most importantly a bathroom. For anyone that has a young toddler a bathroom can really take away some of the stress that come with going to a park.
The park is located on Torrey Meadows Drive just behind Westview High School. Its location makes it a great place to take in the 4th of July fireworks that takes place at Westview High School.
This is the first episode in our Local Community page in San Diego called ‘Off the 56’. It focuses on local happenings in the community. Everything from new restaurants, teachers, and small businesses. Basically anything and everything that happens along the 56 freeway, from Del Mar to Poway and everything in between.
Our first episode features the head trainer at 9Round, Eric Sellars. 9round is a 30 minute kickboxing class with no class times. Just show up and jump in at anytime throughout the day. Eric really makes this place run and gives you a great workout. Come out and see for yourself!
